Merlin  opens the door of his  home in the chimney breast of this great room, stepping out to look down from his vantage point high above the great room. He is carved from bass and mounted in an oak frame to coordinate with the oak that is the predominate wood in this collector’s home. This concept could be used for a door, his front carved on one side, his back on the other making the door three dimensional.
